Activity: Participating in or organising an event › Organising a conference, workshop, ...

Description

Speaker: Dr. Shahrooz Zargarian

Abstract: The seminar addresses eco-friendly approaches to repurposing spent coffee grounds for environmental and material applications. This presentation highlights the use of devices for evaluating light-activable materials and the use of electrospinning and electrospraying for manufacturing nanostructured platforms. Key topics include the fabrication of multifunctional air filters to improve air quality, biocompatible and antibacterial textiles as well as sustainable self-cleaning surfaces. The seminar shows innovative uses of marine waste, such as Poseidon Sea balls due to their potential in solar-driven steam generation and desalination. Additionally, the seminar emphasizes the concept of minimal intervention in sustainable material engineering to address environmental remediation.
