Abstract: Fundamentals of plant layout provides a comprehensive guide on selecting a site, the purpose of plant layout, and the types of plant layout. The audience will be introduced to plant location and layout, and factors affecting the selection of sites. The attendants will learn about the general conditions required to locate a new plant and the scope of plant location. Moreover, students will be introduced to how different facilities in a plant are arranged for material handling and how the organisation of facilities in a plant is influenced to a great extent by the design of the plant.
