Abstract
The role of religion in schools is an ideological battleground. Traditionalists who wish Christianity to predominate seek to use the law in an effort to break the grip of the Liberals, whose pluralist vision has predominated. This title exposes the inadequacies of both groups, showing how each seeks to impose its own theological agenda on the State education system. The author then develops an approach which respects the plurality of faiths in Britain, and the real differences between them, while upholding the pursuit of truth.
