Archive film of Canterbury and district - screening 4

    Research output: Non-textual formPerformance

    Abstract

A public screening of archive film of the Canterbury area discovered during research by Tim Jones on amateur filmmaking. The films reveal the changing face of Canterbury and the surrounding area from the 1930s onwards and give an insight into the development of amateur filmmaking. The screenings are interactive in nature, providing an opportunity for the audience to share their knowledge of the local area.

This screening included a trip along Canterbury High Street in 1926, digging air raid shelters in Dane John Gardens and the Queen’s visit to Christ Church College in 1965.

Public Screening at Canterbury Christ Church University on 9 Mar 2013 and 23 Mar 2013.
