    Abstract

Sparked off by a train of thought I do not want to use the word homage although it sort of is. It is my personal reflection with a modernistic flavour on the great composer Ludwig van. The Rhur in the title refers to an imagining of what Beethoven would make of modern industrialised society, his voice still remaining salient amongst all the belching chimneys and garishness of modern life.
