Abstract
What do clinical psychologists do? Among many other things we are often engaged in trying to make sense of complex stuff. Clinically, or in research or in the way we try and understand the world around us. Plenty of us like to communicate that understanding (or attempt at it!) via traditional channels such as journal articles, conference presentations and books. Estimates vary as to how many people read or hear such things but everyone agrees it’s usually not many. How can we reach wider audiences? John talks about the experience of using social media and blogging platforms to reach a wider audience, trying to make dry academics more appealing, and what’s it’s like do anything for ratings.
