Analyses developments in women’s writing across the 1880s and 1890s, both canonical & lesser-known authors.<br /><br />Explores fin de siècle ambivalence about the cultural construction of gender in women’s fiction from this period.<br /><br />The last two decades of the century, in distinctive ways, witnessed literary experiment.
