Abstract
Fascinating, richly illustrated tour, from converted sheds to glorious purpose-built art deco super cinemas! Includes archive film from Screen Archive South East and images and stories of Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate’s former cinemas and places to see a film.
This event is presented for the annual National Lottery Open Week, when National Lottery funded venues offer free entry, discounts and special offers to say thank you for the £30 million raised for good causes every week by lottery players. The Palace Cinema has been grateful to receive lottery funding via Film Hub South East to support its film heritage and education work, most recently for its ‘Magic Hours’ local film heritage project and Powell and Pressburger season.
