Abstract

The Jamaican Bible Remix is a conceptual musical collection. The album samples audio from Di Jamiekan Nyuu Testiment (The Jamaican New Testament) and triangulates it with themes from black liberation theology, and soundscapes from the black British music canon. The result is a new type of gospel music or Social Gospel Music.

Diverse genres from the black British music canon, such as UK Soul, Drum n Bass, Grime, and Jazz embellish the album. Genres are chosen to underline particular theological meaning(s) embedded in each song.
