    Abstract

'Kleist' is an experimental collaborative film-roman co-directed with Ben Rowley. The film aims to explore the relationship between photography, time, memory and narrative.

This film finally tells the extraordinary life and disappearance of the repudiated German physicist Gustav Kleist. Through recently discovered photographs of his life, and a series of recently recorded interviews with his wife Rebecca, the enigmatic life of Kleist can finally be understood.
