    Abstract

    Purpose – This paper provides a quarterly reflection on recent research in mental health and social inclusion.

    Design/methodology/approach – This edition reviews recent research on supporting people with mental health conditions into employment and education, and the related issue of disclosure in mental health and social care professions.

    Findings – Support for employment and education can prevent social exclusion but needs further research. Mental health and social care workers themselves need more support when disclosing mental health and other disabilities.

    Originality/value – This paper summarises recent research into employment support.
