Abstract
The appeal of an embodied approach to the study of sport and movement cultures is in its accommodation of a wider multi-disciplinary lens. Theoretically, embodiment seeks to move beyond mind/body dualisms and incorporates the physiological with the social and psychological. Although this can be fraught with tensions, a shared understanding of the importance of applying embodied approaches to the research process is relevant – and could be welcomed by a broad inter-disciplinary audience.
