Abstract
Set design by James Frost. The set is intended to look like an old-fashioned backstage area, covered in Hamlet-themed graffiti. The doors open as a transition between the backstage limbo state of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and the world of the court. They are painted on the reverse side in an opulent emerald colour with trompe l'oeil detailing. For the final scene the set transforms into a boat, with a sail behind the set and a pile of packing crates from which characters emerge. Stage construction by James Frost, Nick Gordon and Gareth Winters. Directed by Roanna Bond and Kasia Senyszyn.
