Abstract
This presentation gives an overview of arts and health including a rationale why the arts are important for health and wellbeing looking at evolutionary, ethological, cultural and participatory evidence. It follows with a discussion about the arts and dementia care with specific focus on singing in community and residential settings. Data collection strategies and methodologies are also examined.
