The Itinerant

    Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

    Abstract

The Itinerant project is a reworking of the Victorian beach photographer, which sees the creation of coastal-based photographic happenings using antique and unpredictable processes. Small mobile darkrooms are built by the sea, creating a spectacle and allowing viewers to have their portrait made then see it instantly develop. The photographs are then displayed outside of the darkroom, creating a temporary exhibition of the day’s participants.

The project is based in Margate and Blackpool and has been supported by Arts Council England and the CCCU Centre for Research on Communities & Cultures.
