Through a black mirror, palely: the perceptions, realities and possibilities of the digital learner

    Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

    Abstract

The presentation will be looking at the digital learner through a three-way mirror. A "black mirror", in fact, that represents a TV screen, monitor, smartphone or tablet device. Beginning with our perceptions – what technologies we think they use; the reality – what technologies they actually use; and the possibilities – what technologies they could use. This three-way mirror can, at times, be bright and clear, or, at other times, dark and murky, thus it is "pale".
