Abstract

An introduction to the research done thus far (2015) on the musicians of the Canterbury Catch Club - who were almost all Lay Clerks in the Cathedral Choir as well. The presentation gives glimpses of their working conditions, the Petition they presented to Parliament asking for a pay increase, and other aspects of their livings, culled from research into archives which have not been studied before, including Cathedral and Lambeth Palace Archives.
