Abstract
Based on the theme of Victorian women at the seaside, the exhibitions narrate the visit of a young woman and her modishly dressed husband who are visiting the coast for the first time.
Considering how they get there, where they might stay, what they can eat and what they might do, the exhibitions feature a wealth of resources from local archives which not only show the attractions on offer, but also consider the importance of local women to the blossoming tourist trade.
